Funding
How funding keeps perpetual prices anchored, and when you pay or receive it.

Perpetual futures never expire. Instead, funding keeps the perpetual price close to the underlying index price.
#Who pays whom
- When the funding rate is positive, longs pay shorts.
- When it is negative, shorts pay longs.

Funding payment = Position notional × Funding rate#Intervals
Each instrument has its own funding interval. The market header shows the current rate and a countdown to the next charge. Do not assume every market charges hourly.
#Where to see it
- Market header: the current rate and the next funding time.
- History → Funding: every payment you made or received, exportable as CSV.
